Spent Grain Silo | Large‑Scale Stainless‑Steel Fabrication
Westbury Park Engineering was commissioned to fabricate a 4.8‑metre diameter, 15‑metre tall, 5mm thick stainless‑steel spent grain silo for a client in the food and beverage sector.
This large‑scale fabrication required precise rolling, welding and assembly to achieve the structural integrity and hygiene standards expected of stainless‑steel process equipment.
One of the key challenges on this project was the logistics of transporting a unit of this size. To ensure safe and compliant road transport from our facility to its final destination in Scotland, our team designed and manufactured a bespoke transport jig. This ensured the silo could be securely supported, stabilised and manoeuvred throughout the journey.
The successful delivery of this project demonstrates WPE’s capability in complex stainless‑steel fabrication, problem‑solving, and end‑to‑end project delivery — from design and manufacture through to transport and installation support.
